FURNITURE DESIGN & DIGITAL FABRICATION
“Does the world really need another sofa, table, or lamp?” The answer is resounding “Yes.” Because there are myriads ways to more fully utilize, exploit or reinvent materials, manufacturing process, technical innovations, user behaviors. For this reason, furniture design is challenging and stimulating process. This course provides an opportunity to experimentally explore furniture design with digital fabrication tools including laser cutter and 3D printer. Students will learn the basiscs of manufacturing process of furniture including joints, molds, and materials.
