INTRO TO PHYSICAL COMPUTING
In this course, we aim to design a new platform that can innovate the space based on software and hardware by utilizing physical computing. Physical computing is an approach to computer-based design with designers considering coding, electronics, and physical forms. User experience and computer interface design courses often focus on teaching software-based computing rather than hardware-based computing. Therefore, this class concentrates on physical computing which incorporates 3D mock-up models and a microcontroller (Arduino) to design kinetic robots and reactive spaces. Thus, students will learn basic digital hardware integration and software programming tools for designers.
